Model 9015 – Magnetic Amplifier
The Magnetic Amplifier, Model 9015, is housed in a full-size module. This module is powered by a separate flexible power cable (included) fitted with a grounded three-prong plug which is plugged into a recessed male receptacle on the faceplate of the module.
This module includes control and power windings mounted in gain-oriented silicon steel “C” cores, a control source with built-in milliammeter, a power source, and rectifiers. This module can be used as either a magnetic amplifier or as a saturable reactor in ac power circuits.
When this module is used with a Three-Phase Synchronous Motor/Generator, Model 8241, students can conduct Alternator Voltage Regulator (AVR) experiments.
The Rectifier Bridge, Model 9192, is specially designed to be used with the Magnetic Amplifier (Model 9015) and the Amplidyne (Model 9091) to provide dc control signals from ac operated devices. It consists of a power silicon rectifier bridge fitted into a metal box equipped with a patented mechanism to hold the box on a panel-mounted snap track (Model 9127).
The Potentiometer, Model 9193, is specially designed to be used with the Magnetic Amplifier (Model 9015) and the Amplidyne (Model 9091) to adjust control and feedback signals to appropriate levels. It consists of a potentiometer mounted in a metal box equipped with a patented mechanism to hold the box on a panel-mounted snap track (Model 9127).
